Owner was very rude and stuck up. Very nice antiques in the store but I won't give people like that my money! The only reason I'm giving them one star is that I can't give them zero stars. Your time and money will be better spent one block down the road at American Sideshow.
Bought a large tobacco spit jug that appeared to be without any obvious problems other than a Layer of what appeared to be kitchen type grease on the upper half of the jug. After applying soap to the greased areas it was obvious as to why I got the jug for only $50.00. Under the grease were serious cracks that were not apparent until the grease was removed.
The most rude, disrespectful and vulgar.....argued with each other while we were there. Cannot touch anything. When we were examining a coin, this "owner," who apparently flunked out of etiquette school, became hostile and rude-then argumentative asserting herself as an owner and "her rules." I do not make a purchase without a thorough examination of product. I am not even going to begin to express my theory on how she became part of the ownership...suffice it to say her knees may be scuffed. Save your time, and take a short walk to Sideshow Antiques. Those folks appreciate their customers.
As a visitor to Gatlinburg I have visited this store 3 times in the last 9 months during normal business hours and finally found someone there yesterday at 4:30 so I could go inside. Upon telling owner that I was interested in his Babe Ruth Baseball card he kept telling me what I should buy instead of what I wanted. He acted as if I had no $$$$ which had not been discussed at that time. I went in prepared to buy and pay up to $1,000 but walked out disappointed at the owners attitude. I will buy from eBay if I had too. Owner kept telling me I would never find it any cheaper. Attitude lost a $1,000 sale. Better luck to everyone else.
Was interested in chandeliers but storekeepers very rude when we opened the door to go in was told not to touch anything and to be very careful. I lived in Italy for several years and probably have more items in my home worth more than what is in their shop and would not dream of treating my guests as this shop does. Not sure how they keep their doors open!
