Wear sufficient footwear and take plenty of water for this hike is very steep and lots of above ground tree roots. If you don’t your knees and ankles will pay the price that night. Very well worth the hike the views were beautiful we made it in about three hours we were in no hurry what’s the rush we are 62 and 58 years old. Our greatest part of the hike was a bear crossing our path on the way back. Although we did not have bear spray we did as the website explained and made ourselves large and did not RUN! The bear stared at us for less than 30 seconds and then moved on over to the Cascades for fish it was the only time I wish I had a go pro. I will next time.
The first 1.5 miles are pretty easy. Anyone could do it. Anyone. You will see a sign that says Ramsey cascades 2.5 miles. If you do not have water or hiking boots I would not do this. The trail is amazing but is very steep and narrow. You travel 2200 feet in 4 miles. Your about 4400 feet above sea level when you reach the water fall. It is well worth the hike. Just be prepared
