Gatlinburg is open and is NOT a burned out shell! You can see some of the devastation around this area, but it is natures way of rejuvenating, Check this area out!
We ate at the snack bar at the end of the ice rink, food was surprising good value and good. There are plenty of other ways to spend your money here. The best thing is to take the chair lift to the top of the mountain which is above the ski area.
Very reasonable prices ($40 per person for a 4 hour lift ticket and skis) and fun place to go. If you have skied other places before and are pretty decent you might get bored skiing here all day because there aren't a lot of trails but we went for the night (6-10 pm) and had a great time! This would be a fun place to bring your family and I would definitely recommend you stop by while in Gatlinburg.
There is a lot to experience in this one location from a small zoo, mountain coaster, snow tubing, to skiing and snow boarding!! Not to forget the ice skating if your looking for a family fun full day experience this would be a great spot to visit. Now be aware the food is kinda on the pricey side but when there’s not a lot to choose from up in the mountain you can set your prices. Great Hot chocolate though mmmmm!! We had a blast and I look forward to possibly going back next year and doing some snow boarding!!
Great view, it’s worth it to go up the top. Price is reasonable $7 per person. The staff is nice and competent, my husband lost his phone in the ride and we tell them, they retrieved it and when we get to the bottom they had it at guest service. it's not an easy terrain and even so they were and they looked for it.
Had a lot of fun. Had not skied in 20 years. Only complaint was the instructors did not give much instruction to my 8 year old. It was her first time on skies. Ended up teaching myself and she did great. Definitely will go back!
