This place was awesome!! Out of town, and off the main drag.... It was full of locals and I know why. It was amazing. We had the Thanksgiving buffet and to be honest, I did not have high hopes for a buffet. Everything on the buffet made me say "wow"!!
My food was hot, but my husband's food was cold. The service was slow, our drinks went empty. The award winning ribs would've been better with just the rub on it, the BBQ sauce was very ketchupy, I didn't particularly care for it. The smoked gouda Mac&cheese was good. My husband enjoyed the pulled pork, even though it was cold. It was loud, because they were having Christmas music trivia. The dinners were supposed to come with Texas toast, we were told they don't have that anymore, but were told they had dinner rolls ... only for the waitress to come back & tell us they were out.
Horrible. The band was tone deaf. But that’s not the problem. The food was disgusting. The plates and silverware were dirty. They didn’t have half the things that were promised on the menu such as Texas toast or Coca Cola products. When we asked about the Texas toast the waitress told us they don’t have that anymore but they have dinner rolls. Only to return and tell us they were out of dinner rolls. Worst dinner experience of my life. I feel like lesser person having eaten here.
Very disappointed! Was here a few years ago and it was great. We both ordered pasta, which comes with a salad and garlic bread. We got the salad in about 15 minutes. It was 30 more minutes before we got the pasta. The people at the table beside us got their order and finished and left before we got the main dish. And then the waiter says they are out of bread. It was Saturday evening about 5:30 when we got there. And not terribly busy. We are locals and most likely won't be back.
Very nice ambiance. The locals are lucky. I had a half slab of ribs with green beans and slaw. Slaw was good. Beans we're mush. (Is that how southerners like their beans?) Ribs we're good. Not as good as they could have been with a couple more steps. But much better than most ribs I've had out.
